Summer Fun bikinis

Finally, after months and months, a new bikini range is ready to hit the shops: a wet Summer Fun thong bikini, in 5 bright colours.

The launch is between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday 21 July, at Wicked Dream Nite club (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Akamai/73/84/24).

Be there! :-)

Dear Club-and-Mall Owner

So, you’ve got a club and your traffic is sort of okay, and you’re thinking, “why not add a mall and make more L$?”

So, you add a few shops, trawl the most popular malls to find out which designers are in growth mode, and send invitations to them to come and rent at your new mall, the brand new one outside your club with the okay traffic.

But, are you going to make sure that your patrons know about the shops outside the club? If you have a fixed landing point, are you going to make sure that all the shops have more or less equal foot traffic going past them? Or, failing that, are all the shops visible from the dance floor? Shops that are tucked away in a back alley is just not good enough. The fact that it’s common practice doesn’t make it right.

Quite frankly, dear club-and-mall owner, I will not rent from you.

And, if you rebuild the club, will you let your loyal renters (the one's who have been renting for years) know in good time? Will you make sure that your loyal renters are close to the dance floor, or to the landing point? No, two day’s notice to move your shop is not good enough. Not letting them know, is not cool either.

If my sales drop, dear club-and-mall owner, and stay down because you don’t know the first thing about club-mall economics, I will leave your mall, find another one, and warn people about you.

On the other hand, if you are one of those wonderful club-and-mall owners that understand how high foot traffic and high visibility means good sales for your shop-keepers, and if you actively work to promote their shops, you will find your mall rented out by loyal, long-term renters, which will be real good for your cash flow when you need to render unto LL at the end of the month.

And if you happen to be one of these club-and-mall owners who take care of your shop-keepers, and if I happen to be renting in your mall, send me a note, because I will be totally happy to sponsor your events in a big way.

Goodbye, Green Tower!

The green tower

Remember how Little Secrets moved into Enercity Weston in September last year? What a party! I can still remember how exited I was at the prospect of not only being able to build a main shop for Little Secrets, but also of being able to do the one thing I’ve always wanted since I started playing Second Life: to build a really really tall tower. I made sure that it will be okay to have a real tall tower before I bought the land, and I remember Ener’s enthusiasm about the prospect.

In the end I didn’t build the shop or tower because I met Steamy, who gave it a go and what an awesome job he did! Ener loved his builds too, so Steamy and I installed the Ancient Spaceship and the Green Tower on my land.

Sadly, my neighbours did not like the tower much. And they never told me. I whish they did! Ener once mentioned that someone complained but she downplayed it and I didn’t find out about them hating it until the new sim owner asked me to take it down. This comes after the real sad weekend when Ener announced that she’s got to let her estate go (sob sob) so I feel a bit shaken right now.

But the Green Tower has got to go! I hate offending people, so it’s time to call the demolition team. I told Steamy. He wrote back: “Don’t sweat it Kim, it’s not worth it! I’ll build you another one when you get land where towers are legal.” What a nice bloke! I do appreciate guys like that.

I loved living in Enercity. It was funky and eclectic, a great place to explore, with secrets spots to find and zombies to avoid, totally unconventional, and always fun to be in. In every sense, it was so like the mood of the bikinis I make and sell: unconventional, a little rebellious, more than just a bit daring, but definitely never downright skanky.

I’ve been wondering today: although Enercity was perfect for Little Secrets, maybe Little Secrets no longer fits into Enercity. Perhaps it never did. Whatever the case, I do apologise to my fellow neighbours for irritating you guys! I’m truly sorry.

I guess Steamy’s right. Maybe I should find land where odd-ball towers are not only legal, but popular too.

That means that the Little Secrets main shop might move again in the next few weeks or months. If that’s the case, I’ll naturally post an update on this blog.

Three Secrets

By now, you probably worked out (especially if you follow my Tweets) that the love of my Second love is a sweet, red-headed girl called Ming.

And the real real real exciting news (for me at least!) is that Ming opened a little shop called Secret Kisses, where she sells the most awesomely pretty lingerie.

Yeah, I'm so stoked about it!

This is me, at the mirror, in Ming's Secret Kisses lingerie:

Secret Kisses is in Shop 14 at the new Secret Passions (http://slurl.com/secondlife/BlueBay%20Shores/58/178/22). I have a Little Secrets branch next door to Ming's shop. Yes, that's a lot of Secrets all together :-)
